Troutner Homes in Boise

February 21, 2011

We are excited to hear that The Boise Architecture Project is taking up the cause of documenting and compiling information about the known Art Trounter homes in Boise. We posted a couple of articles a few years back about some of the Troutner homes we had the opportunity to visit. If you have any information about Troutner homes or projects that Art Trounter was involved with in Boise or the Treasure Valley please give us a shout or contact Doug StanWiens at the Boise Architecture Project. If you don’t know about this great project…here is a description from their site:

“The Boise Architecture Project was started in 2005 , inspired by all the great architecture in the community of Boise. From Art Deco and Egyptian Revival public buildings downtown, to Mission Style, Post-Modern and Internationalist private residences in our communities, Boise is a treasure trove of great architecture.

Students from the Timberline High School AP U.S. History classes, the THS Photography class and District Focus 208 projects, and the Capital High School AP Geography class fanned out over Boise, finding their favorite buildings, researching their historical and architectural backgrounds, and photographing the buildings’ characteristics. We have posted this research and slides online for your education and enjoyment.”

Thanks for reading and we hope you have some information to share.
